Card payments — you keep 100% on every plan
Card payments work the same whether you’re on the free planor a monthly plan: the boater covers the card fee at checkout, and the full slip amount lands in your bank. The 3% we earn is added on top of the boater’s bill, not taken out of yours. Here’s what the boater sees on a card payment:

We don’t touch the principal. You connect your Stripe account on signup; the full slip payment flows into your balance and the service fee is what the boater paid on top — you keep everything you charged. If you already use Stripe for charters or fuel, the same account works.

What counts as a slip?
Any berth your harbor or marina assigns a vessel to — including transient, monthly, fuel-dock, and dry-storage. Maintenance-flagged slips count. Open slips count. We charge on your maximum configured slip count, not nightly occupancy.
Is there really no credit card for the trial?
Correct. 30 days, full feature access, your data is yours. We email you on day 23 with a reminder. If you want to keep going on day 31 you add a card; if not, the account goes read-only and you can export everything.
Can my boat owners use it without paying anything?
Yes. The owner portal is included in every plan. Owners get a free PWA (installable on iPhone/Android), magic-link sign-in, message thread with you, balance + Stripe payments, photo upload. No separate owner SKU — that's how it should be.
What about transaction fees on payments?
You keep 100% of every slip payment. When a boater pays by card, a small service fee is added on top of their bill — Stripe's standard 2.9% + $0.30 plus our 3%, about 5.9% + $0.30 all-in — and the full slip amount lands in your bank in 2 business days. The boater covers the card fee at checkout, the same way they would on a booking site; you never see it deducted.
What's the service fee?
It's the 3% we earn on each card payment — but the boater pays it, added on top at checkout, not you. It covers Stripe Connect, fraud monitoring, dispute handling, payout reconciliation, and year-end 1099-Ks. For a 150-slip harbor moving $30k/month, that's $0 out of your pocket: you collect the full $30k, and your boaters cover the card fees the same as they would anywhere they book online.
Do you support iOS / Android apps?
The owner portal is a Progressive Web App today — owners tap Share → Add to Home Screen and it opens like a native app. Native iOS apps for harbormaster (iPad-first, Apple Pencil) and owners are on the roadmap; the backend already speaks the right APIs.
What if I outgrow my tier?
You'll get a friendly email when you hit 90% of your slip cap and a hard email at 100%. We won't auto-upgrade your card — you tell us. Tier changes are pro-rated.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans cancel for the next billing period. Annual plans are non-refundable but unused months credit toward a future restart within 12 months. No contracts.
